Interesting question. Clearly not all of it ... but the more I thought about it, the more I realized that as usual her suggestion was not only provocative but profound.
Some of the advantages:
- A lot less time having to think about who's in the loop
- People don't have to worry about whether they can forward information
- Once people know that email to you will also be public, they're a lot less likely to send pointless or flaming email.
Given my current obsession with wikis, it was natural for me to suggest the idea of A wiki for public email.
